Description
As the day softens into evening, you arrive at the workshop venue and are welcomed with a drink, a grazing board and the quiet anticipation of making something real. Spread out before you are rich leathers, polished tools and beautifully finished examples that invite you to slow down and take it all in. Under the guidance of Felix - a local tour guide and belt maker with more than a decade of experience, you’re taken step by step through the process of creating your own belt; choosing the leather, finding the right fit, shaping the piece and adding the details that make it yours. This is not a rushed demonstration or a novelty activity. It’s a hands-on, carefully guided workshop where craftsmanship is shared generously and every guest leaves with something both useful and lasting. You might make a belt for yourself or for someone you love. You can keep it classic or personalise it with initials, a meaningful date, or coordinates that tie it to a memory. There’s good conversation, the feel of quality leather in your hands, a glass topped up, the slow satisfaction of watching a raw material become something handsome and finished. Then comes the moment everything clicks into place: the buckle is fitted, the belt is tried on, and what was once just a strip of leather becomes something personal, durable and proudly your own. For travellers looking to take home more than a souvenir, this is a rare kind of Queenstown experience: intimate, grounded and made by hand.
